Which division should I register for?
Each division is a little different so that we can cater to the most participants as possible. If you want to challenge your legs and stomach, Take the Dare. This will include eating all ten doughnuts in the middle of the race, so runners in this division must be prepared to hold down their doughnuts as they race. This division does have the most prestige simply because of the nature of the event, so the overall champion will be crowned from this division. If you want to simply run the race, register for the Leisure Runner. This division allows to run the race as a normal 5K, while watching others eat too many doughnuts, and also gives you a head start in training for next year's. Finally, if you simply can't pass up just watching this spectacle unfold, sign up as Morale. This entails setting up along the course near the doughnut eating station and cheering on the runners as they compete.
Each division has awards and each is so important, so find where you fit in and register today!
What do I get when I register?
Registration includes a shirt and doughnuts during the race for the running divisions (Take the Dare and Leisure Runner). If you choose Morale, your registration includes a shirt only, so that you can forever remember that you were there when yelling for those fearless runners.
Where does my registration money go?
All of the money from the registration fee goes to UGA Miracle which benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This race supports hospitals that save lives every day. Children's impacts our society in a positive way every day and needs donations to be able to continue to do their great work.
What can I expect on Race Day?
An enthusiastic, fun environment where racers from all ages and experience levels will be giving their best For The Kids! People will be running and eating, just running, or cheering the runners on as we gather for some light hearted competition to see who will be named the doughnut racing champion of Georgia. You can expect anything from the serious runner ready to show the young guns how to run, to the college student dressed up as a Krispy Kreme doughnut ready to have the most fun possible while eating ten doughnuts. Wherever you are on that spectrum, most of all, we hope to expect to see YOU on race day!
Why do I have to pay if I just want to watch?
We want the best race day atmosphere possible and we know this comes with great fans, something we at UGA are accustomed to. To encourage this, everyone watching the race is asked to pay $15 but with that comes a race day shirt and the chance to push the competitors on as they test their limits. This way Morale will feel more invested in the race and be a huge presence as they cheer on their peers to victory. Wrist bands will be given to all Moralers so that they can be easily found and guided to the cheering section.
